Regardless of where you stand politically, today is a day to celebrate our country. We had a fair election, despite claims of fraud, we have one of the fairest elections in the world. We have a departing President who departs peacefully, graciously, and without trying to stay in control (Mugabe, Chavez). We are in a free country; we were not coerced violently to vote in a particular way. We had a range of candidates running for Office. This president has a definite 4 year term. This president is the first black president- while that is not the reason why he should have been voted for, it shows an incredible amount of our country's growth. Africans sadly were brought here as slaves, and our country has allowed a racial growth to permitting a black man to take the highest office our country offers. That is amazing.I pray our new president helps our country; Lord knows a lot of work is to be done.
Despite your political leanings, today is a day to be patriotic! Are any of you celebrating in a particular way?
