What do you call something that is rather gross, but still fascinating?

Here is Lily, I'm sure you must have heard of her in passing.  She was a big deal in the news because a freak-show-owner used the pup to draw gawkers; a North Carolina lady paid $4,000 to get the puppy away from the show life and is now amputating the extra leg.

Fun facts: 

1. the fifth leg had six toes

2. Puppy is a terrier-Chihuahua mix

3. The freak show was on Coney Island
