Well hello Fall!

I'm really quite sad to bid summer farewell for nine months. It is the season I am at my best. I would greet Fall with more happiness except that here in Sacramento, summer becomes winter in a snap of the fingers. And winter is so grey. But for now, let's celebrate fall! Apples! Leaves! Hot soup! Cooler weather!

We bid adieu to the last night of summer at my parents: twinkling candles, a chorus of crickets, yapping foxes, and fresh vegetables from the garden- perfection!
