Because husband had to be up at 5 am on his birthday, and gone for 3 days, we celebrated in North Lake Tahoe the following weekend. It was a delight to get away, and wonderful to be reminded that we have some of the world's greatest beauties right in our back yard.
Beautiful hour and 3/4 drive
At Donner Pass we stopped at the romantic Rainbow Lodge for a bowl of hot fresh French Onion Soup and warm bread (note Swiss and Canadian Flags!)

My husband is one of the most impressive 24 year olds I have ever known; I am so honored to share my life with him in our young twenties. Now, on to the celebration of the holidays!
