The one and only Mr. George Bernard Shaw left the residue of his estate to his exeuctor to develop a new alphabet of 40 letters, and to propagandize it for its adoption.
He wanted to reform the English alphabet so that letters, singly and in combination, would have only one pronunciation.
Allow me to demonstrate:
The "gh" from the word enough
The "o" pronounced only as from the word "women"
The "ti" pronounced as in the word "notion"
gh= sound of f
o= sound of i
ti= sounds of sh
what does that spell?! ghoti= FISH
chuckle. i love words.
