The clouds must be feeling ill

California tends to have rather predictable weather; the current hurricane-like status is very much NOT normal.  For the most part.  My desk sits in a nook of a big picture window.  Watching the weather and all of the on-goings of the trees and critters is much better than any television show.

Maybe this is why literature has liked to say "the clouds were pregnant with rain."  Or something along those lines.  I can truly see the vomiting analogy (morning sickness?).  The trees start to sway, clutching at their trunks, in a sea-sick manner.  Then in one huge burst the trees bend over nearly in half and a spewing of rain pummels down.  With that heave-ho over, the trees go back to a mild sway, then a few minutes later, another huge torrent of rainy bile.  It's wonderful.  Inclement weather is a little frightening, but fascinating.

I have been absent from my blog for awhile.  Just not inspired, very busy, out of town, etc etc.  I have noticed an incredible number of sales online (just in time for the slow-level shipping to arrive for my birthday, is how I have justified any purchases I may have made).  Nordstrom is having a "private" sale for several hours today, Urban has slashed items down to the 10$ range, and ModCloth is having a cabin fever sale! (Did you know they allowed me to name a pair of boots? It makes me feel so famous!)

The gusting wind has made it too dangerous for me to ride my horse (that's him in the photo! Lux!), which gives us both quite a bit of cabin fever!  If I buy something for myself in the sales, I should probably find a treat for him as well...

At least being locked in doors forces me to work at my books!  I hope you all are having a lovely mid-week day and are safe and warm.   I will attempt greater creativity at another time. Adieu!
